This custom pet urn was turned from alder and cottonwood.  Thin strips of walnut veneer were placed between the 24 cherry staves to add contrast.   The ebony knob is topped with a golden sapphire, which was cut and provided by the customer.  The urn is finished with multiple coats of durable polyurethane.
