This premium 7-1/2″ tall pepper mill with a solid butternut top is crafted from cherry, maple, and walnut. It is known as a segmented stave mill because the construction technique involves cutting contrasting woods into pieces, gluing them together, cutting and re-assembling those pieces into long strips, and then forming a cylinder out of the strips. It’s similar to the way a barrel is constructed.

The cylinder, when assembled, was turned on a wood lathe to produce the bottom section of the mill. The contrasting top was turned from a solid piece of butternut.

The mill is finished with multiple coats of a durable penetrating Danish oil, buffed and waxed to a satin luster.

The premium-grade grinding mechanism is designed to last a lifetime but can be replaced if ever needed.

To fill the pepper mill, unscrew the top and separate the upper and lower sections.  To adjust the coarseness of the grind, turn the top screw.

Use and Care Instructions:  Fingerprints and smudges can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.  Dry with a soft towel. Do not immerse the mill in water, and please keep it away from sources of high heat.
